Critical Thinking Blog #8

My thinking on science and technology has changed a lot since I've started taking this class. it has change because I have learned so much about how technology has changed over time. I believe that technology will continue to grow and make life for us better. after taking this class you could go either way in thinking that the evolution of technology is a bad thing for humanity. movies like the matrix, terminator, and novels like Frankenstein scare us in to thinking that if humans do surpass us they could become evil and dangerous to humanity. I think that I'm more of a science person now. I think its intriguing how far we have come and where we are going with technology. Ray Kurzweil's believes that technology is accelerating at a face pace and I agree with him. things like robots showing emotion is a big step in science. soon we will not be able to tell whether a robot is a human or not. that would be a problem we would be posed upon us just like in the Philip k. dick graphic novel  where the characters cant tell whether humans are androids or not. after taking this course it has made me more optimistic about the future of technology. for example I am excited to hear about the new Google glasses to come out. films like the terminator where robots are bad doesn't seem realistic to me so until that happens I'd have to be pretty happy to see where technology is going.
