Critical Thinking Blog #7
Rosalind Franklin was a biophysicist who made critical contributions to science. she was the first person to discover the double helix strand DNA. At the time no one would believe that she had made such a grand discovery. the reason for it was that she was a women and during the time that she was alive, women weren't viewed as equals. she was then awarded the noble piece prize after a couple of years she had died. its a shame that she couldn't have been recognized when she was alive. her contribution to science opened up the idea to look further into how DNA affects the body. also why DNA is so important to all living things. Crick and Watson were other pair of scientists that did contributions involving DNA. Rosalind hinted to Crick and Watson her hypothesis on DNA and didn't get credit for it. the credit went Crick and Watson which was published first to the public. Rosalind had published a couple of works on DNA. she also did other things in science such as the polio and the tobacco mosaic virus. She is one of Science most intriguing women that wasn't recognized enough when she should been.
